BUPA
BUPA is the UK market leader in health and care and also has a strong international presence.
Established in 1947, it now has around eight million customers in 190 countries and more than 48,000 employees. Its main interests are health insurance, care homes for older people and the young disabled, health assessments, workplace health and childcare services.
The challenge
BUPA UK Insurance wished to increase the efficiency of its staff resourcing function to improve time to hire, control costs and reduce reliance on external agencies. It also wanted to improve forecasting of the demand for new personnel, improve hire quality and raise the profile and quality of its employer brand. The project would include the successful hiring of more than 1300 new people over two years in both volume and specialist areas and the development of initiatives to ensure high levels of staff retention. The new RPO provider would face the extra challenge of ‘winning hearts and minds’ amongst line and HR management following unsatisfactory results delivered under a previous RPO scheme.

What the client said
“Ochre House was the only company that started with what BUPA needed. They really worked hard to understand our needs and developed innovative responses to meet them. In the short time since they have been appointed, they have proved their ability to execute and deliver.
